Considering a Career in EM?
Today the EM3 team have been at the medical students careers fair at Leicester Medical School. Thank you to all who came along and had a chat. Hopefully we will see some of you on the shop floor in the not so distant future!
We had some lovely promotional material provided by RCEM. Anybody who is interested in a career in EM should also check out the college website.
We would also like to thank Dr Corry-Bass who attended from Magpas to represent pre-hospital medicine too.
It is also never too early to get involved in #FOAMed or Emergency Medicine related projects. So please take a look around the website and at the resources we have found.
Some of the recurrent questions asked were around the training structure and the competition rates to entry at CT1. Apologies to those who came after we ran out of leaflets!
The current training scheme is in the gallery below (from the RCEM website) and I have included the 2014 competition rates (taken from the BMJ).
A few people asked about the diversity and flexibility of EM and hopefully we managed to get across some of the benefits. If you want to hear it from some of our colleagues too have a watch of this video:
Thank you to the organisers of the day who supplied us with teas, coffees and food. We tried our best to eat/drink it all!
